SentinelOne Demo: SentinelOne VS CrossLock Ransomware – Detection and Response
In this video demonstration, we show how the SentinelOne Singularity XDR Platform detects and responds to CrossLock ransomware.
Emerging in early 2023, CrossLock is a multi-extortion group. Its ransomware payloads are written in Go, and contain some more ‘advanced’ features including an expanded command-line syntax and ETW (Event Tracing) bypasses.
To date, CrossLock ransomware attacks have focused on targets in South America, with the group being known to target entities in that region in the manufacturing and agriculture and farming.
Recent CrossLock ransomware payloads mimic processes from Cybereason, an endpoint security company. The CrossLock payloads implementation of encryption relies on standard GoLang packages, working though a combination of ChaCha20 and (ECC) Curve25519.
The SentinelOne Singularity XDR Platform can return systems to their original state using either the Quarantine or Repair.
