DinodasRAT Linux Backdoor (aka XDealer) VS SentinelOne: Protection
In this video demonstration, we show how SentinelOne protects against DinodasRAT (also known as XDealer), a Linux-focused backdoor/RAT that emerged in late 2022. With roots tracing back to to as early as 2021, this malware has evolved, with new versions being observed targeted government entities in Guyana. The malware has been linked to a number of China-centric APT actors and campaigns from 2021 to today.
DinodasRAT, crafted in C++, offers a wide array of control options once it infiltrates a target host. DinodasRAT/XDealer also has versions tailored for Windows. Current intelligence suggests DinodasRAT may have origins in the open-source SimpleRemoter project, with the Linux variant exhibiting a highly complex structure, suggesting it was developed from a new codebase rather than merely adapting the functionality of its Windows counterpart.
The SentinelOne Singularity™ platform is identifies and mitigates the malicious activities associated with DinodasRAT/XDealer, safeguarding networks and information against this adversary.
