SentinelOne Achieves Common Criteria EAL2 Certification Extending Availability In South Korea
Certificate will pave the way toward increased availability for South Korean public organisations and commercial businesses
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif – January 30, 2023 – SentinelOne (NYSE: S), an autonomous cybersecurity platform company, today announced that it successfully completed Common Criteria’s Evaluation Assurance Level 2 (EAL2) certification. This certification will empower South Korean public sector companies to take control of their cybersecurity efforts using a globally recognized solution from one of the world’s leading vendors.
EAL2 certification demonstrates that SentinelOne’s leading XDR cybersecurity solutions have been structurally tested and passed Common Criteria’s rigorous examination. The South Korean government requires all public organisations to use cybersecurity software that meets this standard.
“South Korean organisations are among the most frequently attacked in the world. Achieving the Common Criteria’s EAL2+ grade better enables SentinelOne to protect South Korean institutions from sophisticated threat actors of all kinds,” said Arthur Woo, South Korea Regional Sales Director, SentinelOne. “In addition to the public sector, many private industries in the financial, communications, and heavy industry sectors prefer to work with cybersecurity vendors who have this certification.”
SentinelOne has been recognized as a global leader by Next Generation EPS solutions for its EDR/XDR cybersecurity solutions. The fully autonomous SentinelOne Singularity XDR platform provides AI-based prevention, detection, response, containment, and remediation of security threats across endpoints, containers, cloud workloads, and IoT devices on a single unified platform.
The SentinelOne platform can be deployed both on-premise and as a cloud/hybrid installation, a critical requirement in South Korea. The company has nationwide coverage through the reseller ecosystem, providing high-quality services to companies throughout South Korea.
Common Criteria is an international set of specifications and guidelines that is designed to evaluate security products and systems. The standard was initially developed by the United States, Canada, France, Germany, the UK, and the Netherlands in 1994. It unified standards from the United States (TCSEC), Canada (CTCPEC), and Europe (ITSEC) to enable security products to complete one set of standards to achieve global certifications.
Common Criteria Certification is an ISO 15408 international standard for evaluating the security of products and can be obtained by confirming the satisfaction of common evaluation items among the security evaluation standards managed by countries around the world.
