SentinelOne Expands to Eugene’s Flourishing Tech Ecosystem with New Oregon Office
The New Location Provides Support For a Rapidly Growing Customer Base
Mountain View, Calif. – May 23, 2018 – SentinelOne, the autonomous endpoint protection company, today announced the opening of a new office location in Eugene, Oregon to help meet the demand of a rapidly growing enterprise customer base.
The new location will house support and technical account management staff to augment the current team in Mountain View, CA. SentinelOne anticipates adding 50 jobs to the new location by the end of 2018 with plans to double that amount by the end of 2019.
“The Eugene-Springfield area has a long history of innovation and boasts some of the finest technology and security talent anywhere in the world,” said Tomer Weingarten, CEO and co-founder, SentinelOne. “Symantec has been cultivating tech talent there for more than two decades – and as they continue regional divestment – SentinelOne is thrilled to expand and capitalize on the wealth of talent that the city and surrounding area has to offer alongside the growth of our business.”
“Today’s announcement is a double dose of good news – bringing jobs to Eugene as well as further confirming Oregon’s leadership role for innovation and cybersecurity expertise. I am glad SentinelOne has recognized Silicon Shire’s strengths and the opportunities to draw from Oregon’s talent pool for a 21st century economy,” said Oregon Senator Ron Wyden.
In addition to the new office and employment opportunities, SentinelOne will further advance the area’s tech ecosystem through active engagement with local educational institutions, including the University of Oregon, Oregon State University, and Lane Community College, for work-study internships, research, and course collaboration.
“SentinelOne approached us with a genuine desire to be part of the community and recruit talent locally,” said Eugene, Oregon Mayor Lucy Vinis. “SentinelOne brings new opportunities, high wage jobs, and excitement to Eugene. I couldn’t be happier to officially welcome them to Eugene’s Silicon Shire.”
Eugene stood out from several shortlisted North American cities across the country that SentinelOne considered for expansion. The Technology Association of Oregon and other local leaders from public and private agencies coordinated to assist with site selection, infrastructure, and workforce.
SentinelOne will officially open its Eugene office to the press on May 23rd at 3pm. The office is located in the Citizens Building at 975 Oak Street.
